If you’re like me, you don’t like the idea of using chemical insecticides in your yard, garden or house. Although they can be used safely, the warnings on the bottle alone are enough to scare me off! I’d rather use an organic solution for my bug problems whenever possible.

These organic insecticide products might be something you want to consider for your own home, lawn or garden:

Organic Insecticide can work really well, especially if it’s this

Orange Guard Organic Insect Killer works on ants, fire ants, roaches, fleas, silverfish, plant pests, and other insect pests. There’s no need to have those pets in or around your home – and with two 32 ounce bottles, you can fight them off for a long time.

Diatomaceous Earth is an all natural mechanical organic insecticide that is an excellent alternative to toxic, chemical pesticides. It’s also highly effective – killing these pests off within 48 hours of ingesting or coming into contact of it. It can be used in a variety of places, from behind refrigerators, behind stoves and cabinets, in garbage cans – it’s versatile and effective.

It comes in a 2 pound bag, so it’s effective for treating up to 1000 square feet. In addition, diatomaceous earth is not a chemical – so it doesn’t break down or become less effective as time goes by. And don’t worry about your pets or family, The Environmental Health Coalition refers to Diatomaceous Earth as one of the least toxic insect controls around. One last note, this isn’t the same stuff as the kind that goes in your pool filter.

This bottle of Organic Yard Insect Killer uses thyme oil, clove oil and sesame oil to help repel and destroy insects. It’s effective against a wide variety, including ants, aphids, caterpillars,cockroaches, gnats, mosquitoes, spiders, ticks – the list can go on and on (see link for full list).

Insects die within as quick as minutes to just an hour depending on the insect. Just attach the bottle to the hose and spray your lawn down. It’s that easy.

If you’re looking for some really great biodegradable, non-toxic, organic insecticide, check out Bug-a-Tak Organic Insecticide. This organic insecticide works quickly, and typically on contact. Just spray it on a plant 6-8 feet away. Ideal conditions will not be overly windy, not above 90 degrees, and no moisture. It’s a great option to killing a lot of insects. A newer organic insecticide is spinosad – which is derived from the fermentation juices of Saccharopolyspora spinosa. This bottle of Spinosad Organic Lawn Insect Killer will be sure to rid your lawn or garden of insects. As soon as it dries, it’s safe for the family and for pets.

Just hook it up to the hose, and spray it on your lawn. This particular bottle can cover an area of up to 5,000 square feet, so you’re good to go for quite awhile. Spinosad is ready to use, without any mixing. It controls beetles, worms, fleas, leafminers, thrips and spider mites. You can use it on vegetables, fruit trees, lawns and ornamentals.

The organic insecticides featured here are just as effective as neem oil, and can really help your lawn or garden flourish. Be sure to read the instructions on each of them, and although they are organic – make sure you are spraying them and using them in proper areas. You’ll have a lawn and garden that is greener and with less insects, which will definitely keep you happy.
